Overview
As the ITU Power Electronics Laboratory, we offer various financial and operational support mechanisms to foster the academic development of prospective researchers and our students. Projects carried out within our laboratory and our sectoral collaborations provide opportunities that support students both in building academic expertise and in receiving financial support during their transition to professional life.
Project-Based Research Scholarships
National and international projects conducted within our Division constitute the primary source of support for our successful students:
TÜBİTAK Project Scholarship
In TÜBİTAK (1001, 3501, 1004, etc.) projects conducted by our faculty members, undergraduate, master’s, and PhD students may take part as “Scholarship Holders” depending on the nature of the project.
TÜBİTAK STAR (Intern Researcher Scholarship Program)
Within the scope of the STAR program, which enables our undergraduate students to be involved in R&D projects at an early stage, scholarship support is provided for students admitted to projects in our laboratory.
Sectoral and Industrial Support Programs
Within the framework of our university–industry collaboration vision, the following models are implemented to support the professional development of our students:
Industry-Supported Thesis Studies
In joint projects carried out with our stakeholders in the defense industry (SAYP, etc.) and the energy sector, dedicated scholarships and research supports are offered to our graduate students.
İŞKUR-Supported Training and Employment
During certain periods, through our laboratory stakeholders and industry partners, working opportunities may be offered within the scope of the İŞKUR On-the-Job Training Program, providing students with both professional experience and financial support.
Research and Equipment Support
In addition to financial scholarships, the following support is provided to help students implement their own projects:
TÜBİTAK 2209-A/B Research Projects for University Students
Academic supervision is provided for our undergraduate students to obtain material, equipment, and travel support for their original research projects.
ITU BAP (Scientific Research Projects)
Experimental setup and analysis costs required for the thesis studies of our graduate students are supported by being structured as projects through our university’s BAP unit.
