Our Graduate Education Vision

Within the scope of the ITU Electrical Engineering Graduate Program, the activities carried out within our Division aim not only to provide students with the most up-to-date theoretical knowledge, but also to educate them as leading researchers capable of solving complex engineering problems. Our Master’s and PhD studies conducted under the umbrella of the ITU Graduate School (LEE) bring together innovative thinking, academic excellence, and an industry-oriented R&D discipline.

Key Research Focus Areas

1. Advanced Power Converter Topologies

Integration of next-generation wide bandgap (WBG) semiconductor technologies such as SiC and GaN into power electronics circuits.

2. Electrical Machine Design and Control

Design of rare-earth-free, hybrid-flux, high-efficiency, and high power-density generator/motor systems.

3. Electric Transportation Technologies

Battery management systems (BMS), fast charging stations, and electric vehicle traction systems.

4. Renewable Energy and Microgrids

Converter design for solar and wind energy systems, energy storage solutions, and smart grid management.

5. Digital Control and Simulation

Modeling of power systems, real-time simulation techniques, and development of digital control algorithms.

🛠️ Laboratory and Prototyping Facilities

Our graduate students conduct their studies using the modern infrastructure of the “Power Electronics Laboratory.” Our laboratory enables theoretical designs to be transformed into physical prototypes through advanced measurement instruments, high-power test setups, and up-to-date simulation software (MATLAB/Simulink, ANSYS, PSpice, etc.). Comprehensive testing opportunities are provided within the scope of TÜBİTAK- and industry-funded projects.

🎓 Academic Outputs and Career Path

  • International Publications and Conference Papers: Research outputs are presented in reputable scientific journals and IEEE conferences, contributing to the global literature.
  • Industry Leadership: Graduates take roles as expert researchers or managers in R&D centers of leading organizations in the defense, energy, and automotive sectors.
  • Academic Progression: Our PhD graduates may continue their academic careers as faculty members at national or international universities.

ℹ️ Application and Detailed Information
